We have been touched and are grateful for the continued support we have received from our valued guests since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

Over the past few weeks, Governor Gretchen Whitmer has laid the groundwork for a gradual reopening of our economy. We have chosen to move at a deliberate and cautious pace towards the reopening of CityFlatsHotel, The Parlour, and our events spaces with our biggest priority being the safety of our guests and staff. We have decided to keep CitySen Lounge and CityBru temporarily closed.

We are keeping current with the wealth of guidelines for the hospitality industry prepared by various government agencies and trade associations. Every CityFlatsHotel team member has completed extensive, professional training that has allowed us to reopen our doors with confidence and the assurance of the highest safety levels.

Our Front Desk Agents are ready and available to answer any questions or concerns you may have regarding our rates, packages, and flexible cancellation policies. In addition, our General Manager, John Lagazo, is available to speak with you at your convenience regarding our safety protocols, policies, and procedures at john.lagazo@cityflatshotel.com or directly at 616-608-1720.

We have listed some of our protocols and best practices, not only for your safety but for the safety of our Team and our community. This list is by no means inclusive of everything we are doing here at CityFlatsHotel to ensure your safety.

COVID-19 safety protocols for CityFlatsHotel

We ask all our guests to refrain from entering the property if they have any reason to believe they may have been exposed to COVID-19, or are showing symptoms.

General Protocols:

  • Physical distancing requested
  • Face mask required by all guests and staff
  • Enhanced hand hygiene training for all employees
  • Health screening prior to each shift for all employees
  • Increased disinfecting with an emphasis on touchpoints such as door handles, elevator buttons, handrails, and public restrooms
  • Continuous COVID-19 training and education

These protocols, policies and procedures are not indicative of the complete list of our efforts to keep our employees, guest, suppliers, vendors, and our community as safe as possible. We will update this page as needed while we continually monitor, adapt, train, adjust and implement procedures as the future continues to unfold.

Overnight Hotel Guest Information/ Protocols

  • Our text messaging concierge is available 24/7 for any questions, comments, or concerns throughout your stay. Please let us know how we can be of assistance!
  • Face coverings are required in all public areas, including guest room corridors, and hallways.
  • We ask that all guests practice physical distancing of at least 6 feet from people who are not with their party. This includes elevators, we request that you take turns and show courtesy with letting people traveling together use it and wait for it to return.
  • CitySen Lounge restaurant & lounge is temporarily closed. Many local restaurants and attractions have changed their hours and services. Please call or check specific websites of places you are interested in visiting to get up-to-date information.
  • If you are staying more than one night, you will not receive traditional housekeeping services, please text or call the Front Desk with any housekeeping needs. Used towels and trash can be left outside your room door, a CityFlatsHotel staff member will leave a bag of fresh towels and remove trash.
  • If you do request Housekeeping service, guests cannot be in the room during cleaning. Available Housekeeping service hours on request are between 9am–12p.
  • Check-out is automatic at 11am and receipts will be emailed to you. Guests can leave used keys in the room and bypass the Front Desk. Rooms will be double-checked by Housekeeping staff after 11am to ensure the room is vacant.
  • Inside the room, paper collateral, extra pillows, promotional materials, and items that cannot be properly disinfected and/or sanitized will be removed from the rooms or replaced after each guest.
  • Exercise room is temporarily closed.
  • Ice & disposable cups are available, please contact Front Desk.
  • The Parlour offers beauty and salon services, located on the lobby level is open Monday-Saturday.

Updated Parking and Unloading Information

  • Monroe Center Street Restrictions
    The easiest way to get to CityFlatsHotel Grand Rapids due to traffic restrictions is via Ottawa, and then turning left on Monroe Center. Half of Monroe Center Street is blocked-off but you are still able to get through to the loading zone at the end of the block.
  • Looking to park? Proceed without turning on Monroe Center Street. Turn left on Louis from Ottawa, take another left on Ionia, and then an immediate left into the Monroe Center Parking Ramp. There is a walkway leading to the back entrance of the hotel
